Five Ways Brands Win When They Invest in Social Good
An increasing number of companies are focusing on driving positive change through their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. Learn why.
Innovative and forward-thinking brands are always looking for ways to connect with communities, potential customers and stakeholders. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) business model holds a company socially accountable to its stakeholders and the public, helping to drive positive change rather than solely focusing on their bottom line.
CSR is one way that organizations, corporations and publicly-traded companies give back on both a local and a global scale. A 2020 study conducted by Moving Worlds found that 72% of publicly-traded companies mentioned “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDG’s) as a primary focus for their new investments (SDG’s are a set of 17 criteria defined by the United Nations to create a more just and equitable planet by 2030. More on that here.)
Examples of CSR and social impact projects include the reduction and remediation of environmental impacts; investing in programs that improve peoples’ livelihoods in communities; regenerative agriculture; programs that promote gender equality; and more.
A recent Global Societal Impact Study cites five of the ways brands benefit by investing in social impact projects:
• Generate new market opportunities
• Improves relationships with government and regulators
• Inspire, attract and retain top talent
• Enhance value with stakeholders
• Helps build sustainable supply chains
Determining how you want to invest in CSR and coming up with a strategy doesn’t have to be daunting! After all, what’s not to love about a brand that champions social causes, programs and projects that improve peoples’ livelihoods and the planet?

#LoveisLove: Promoting Equality in South Florida with SAVE
Celebrate Pride Month with us by learning more about this LGBTQ advocacy organization.
June is nationally recognized as Pride Month: a celebration of the contributions and impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people have had around the world.
Duvin Collaborative is proud to work with South Florida’s longest-serving advocacy organization dedicated to promoting and protecting LGBTQ rights: Safeguarding American Values for Everyone (SAVE). Through grassroots advocacy, community outreach and education, SAVE and its Foundation work to raise awareness, effect change in society, and ensure equality in all facets of life for the LGBTQ population in South Florida.
We are thrilled to be working with SAVE on their annual Champions of Equality Gala. The event will honor community luminaries and elected officials for their work in advancing LGBTQ equality, safeguarding democracy and providing critical support to South Florida residents as they faced unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Gala will be held on September 23 at the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center in the heart of Miami Beach. This year’s honorees include United States Congressman David Cicilline of Rhode Island, Cuban-American artist and illustrator Edel Rodriguez, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, leadership of The Miami Foundation and Our Fund, Florida State Senator Shevrin “Shev” D. Jones, and Kevin Cho Tipton, APRN, a South Florida critical care nurse practitioner who has distinguished himself in combating the devastating effects of COVID-19 and the spread of misinformation associated with the pandemic.
A limited number of single tickets are available and can be purchased via this link (currently offered at the early bird price of $100, which will increase to $150 on August 1). In addition to attending the event, you can show your support for SAVE and the LGBTQ community in following ways:
Sponsorship: Event sponsors contribute $2,500+ and enjoy a variety of marketing and branding benefits, commensurate with the level of giving. Click here to read more about sponsorship levels.
Silent Auction: Donate an attractive item to the silent auction, which will be conducted online, thanks to the virtual bidding system that allows anyone with internet access to participate. The auction will be heavily promoted to SAVE’s e-mail database of 20,000+ subscribers, as well as on social media, offering ample opportunities for visibility. To make an auction donation, please fill out the simple electronic submission form that can be accessed HERE. The deadline for submission is Friday, August 20.
Gift Bag Item: Approximately 200 gift bags will be distributed to the guests at the event. These should be items of value, offered in quantities of at least 180. In the past, gift bags have included pride-themed wearables, restaurant gift certificates, spa items, stationary, individually-wrapped food items and beverages, etc. All gift bag items must be approved by the SAVE team - to propose a gift bag donation, please fill out the electronic submission form that can be found HERE. The deadline for submission is Friday, August 20.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit SAVE's mission to promote, protect and defend equality for people in South Florida who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer. We hope you will join us in supporting this remarkable organization. Please also join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #SAVEChampions.
